Medical Students, Residents and Fellows in Training who are members of TSPP, TSCAP, and TAP will present/display posters at the TSPP Spring Conference on Saturday, April 5th throughout the day and during refreshment breaks. SATURDAY – DINNER RECEPTION
Unwind alongside colleagues and friends at the conclusion of Saturday’s committee meetings and CME program at a dinner reception from 7:15-9:00pm.

Exhibits will be open throughout the day Saturday to provide you with information designed to enhance your practice and improve the optimal delivery of medical care to your patients. HOTEL RESERVATIONS:
The TSPP discounted group rate has expired. If you need a room at the conference hotel, please email TSPP@www.txpsych.org and include your first and last name, email, phone, and check-in/out dates desired. We will contact the hotel to see if they are still able to honor the discounted rate of $239/night.
Booking a room within the TSPP room block is an important way to support TSPP and helps to keep the overall meeting registration fee and costs as low as possible. Please help us help you by booking your room at the hotel hosting the meeting and within the TSPP room block.

Objectives: The learning objectives for this activity has been designed to address clinician competence. Upon conclusion of the activity participants should be able to: – Recognize the prevalence of OUD and how our role as physicians is no longer rooted only in prevention by limiting prescriptions available, but in actively treating the patients with OUD. – Appreciate the impact MOUD has on outcomes compared to behavioral interventions alone. – Recognize the neurobiological underpinnings of opioid use disorder to better combat stigma. – Identify the medications that are FDA approved for treating OUD, and recognize the risks, benefits, side effects, and alternatives to each. – Identify the role of harm reduction measures in substance use disorder treatment, particularly those relevant to OUD. |

Upon conclusion of the activity participants should be able to: – Identify which legal documents will be needed for patients and how these can assist the patient, based on the clinical issues. – Have knowledge of the type of attorney who can draw up these documents. – Understand the limitations of legal documents regarding patients. – Have a working understanding of the following legal documents: Directive to Physicians and Family or Surrogates, Statutory Durable Power of Attorney, Medical Power of Attorney and HIPAA Release Authorization. |

CME PROGRAM GOAL / TARGET AUDIENCE This live activity has been designed in a format consisting of case study presentations, lectures and direct discussion to provide its primary target audience of Psychiatrists, as well as other specialties of medicine, with the most up-to-date, evidence-based data that can be translated into clinical practice. Information and data will address new developments in treatments and new directions in research to address the professional practice gaps of the learners and advance the physicians’ competence and effective use of targeted skills so that they may develop strategies to apply the knowledge, skills and judgement of the information presented in the educational activity into their practice. The learning objectives for this activity have been designed to address clinician competence.
NEEDS ASSESSMENT TSPP has incorporated into this CME activity the relevant educational needs concerning competence that underlie the professional practice gaps of our participants.
